Mama got a little bee up her bonnet to do a little backyard landscaping update. We spent a couple weeks laying out ropes and dreaming/talking then one day I just picked up the shovel and decided to ask for forgiveness later!
Here's the slow progression of progress.
(the dirt mound is a hit, but man, my house/kids keeps getting filthy!)
Paths are dug... time for gravel!
Oh I also got a new birdbath. It has also added to the fun of the back yard, but it's IMPOSSIBLE to keep clean and full. It's a magnet for dirt clods and gravel to be thrown in it and then buckets get dunked in to empty it all out!
My "helpers"
The boys
The girls
The farmers
Notice how Cora's wearing brother's boots. Effective for her.
Taking a break from all the hard work
So that brings us to current day. The hardscaping is 90% complete. I am now in the plant research/selection phase. Oh, and I need to get more dirt.
Meanwhile, Daddy is starting a project indoors to install some built in cabinets in the family room! Yippee! So excited for those to go up :)
Daddy also gets lots of "help" from the littles.
She's done folks.
Lastly, a few gems from our trip to the rhododendron garden
"hiii, hi. hiiii, hi, hi, hi. Quack quack"
Jack waiting patiently for the duck to come eat some seed from his hand.
Sometimes, a girl just needs a quiet moment to eat a snack.
Happy Birthday Mama
