May Days

A walk around the neighborhood.

 This was the first time I used this forward facing carrier so we had to try it out and check it out at home before committing to our adventure.

We made it to the park!

 Jack fell asleep somewhere along the way. I guess he likes his carrier.

Jack often takes his first nap of the day in our bed. 

He falls back asleep after I feed him and then have to pump.

 On this particular day, Jack took a great nap in the shed while I was working in the yard.

 A cousin play date

Jack and I went to Keizer to visit the cousins. 

The latest trick is trying to put his whole fist in his mouth.

Lately he's been singling out his thumb and I'm not sure how I feel about it.

 While Jack lazed around in the shade, his cousins frolicked in the sprinkler.

 Play date with Jack's second cousins?

My cousins and their kids came over, so are their kids Jack's second cousins? Is that how that works?

We had quite the crew over for a play date.

All boys.... and then there was Hannah :)

Everyone huddled in a small spot for a moment in time...

... then they were off again!

We had a small family gathering to welcome Jack to the world. 

This was the Thank You I sent out of Jack surrounded by all the goods he came home with. 

He's got a nice little library started.

Mother's Day

Last year for Mother's Day, Jack was just a wish, hope and a prayer. 

Feeling so thankful and blessed to get to be his Mama.

 We went on a family trip to the Saturday Market!

This was actually May 3 for my birthday

(I look like I'm choking Jack here, but I promise I'm not. Just trying to keep his floppy self upright!)

Switched to Daddy's arms. He can block the wind better.

 Jack's 3 month picture. I tried to get him to tone down his enthusiasm.

Jack got a new floor gym! He LOVES to stare at the butterflies and is learning that when he flails his arms about he can make the hanging birds move and make noise. 

This brings him much joy.

This was boys night in the garage so mama could have some time.

Don't ask me what they were talking about...

...but Jack was listening attentively!

 For Mother's Day.

We had a low key day. I didn't want to fight crowds for brunch, I just wanted to enjoy our family.

So we stayed home and did just that, just spent time together. It was bliss.

I got the BEST presents too! 

ORGANIZATION!!!!!

(I am not kidding. I sincerely am excited beyond belief.) 

Two locations have been driving me CRAZY and Steve fixed both problems. 

Before:

Our overflow kitchen storage closet. Stuffed full and just not functional. In order to take item B out, item A had to come out first, then get put back and it's heavy and annoying and blah blah blah. 

So see all that dead space on the wall?

It had so much storage potential!

After:

Makes my heart go pitter patter.

I can get to EVERYTHING without moving anything. 

It's all in cute little containers. 

All my appliances are easy to see and reach. 

Oh and that blender in there, we aren't sure if that is birthday, mother's day or just because but that is new and I love it and it makes delicious non dairy smoothies that make me a happy camper.

Before:

This here little problem. 

Our kitchen is not big. We don't have lots of counter space.

For 3 months, a large amount of space is taken up by my pumping supplies that are waiting to be used as well as supplies that are cleaned and drying. 

I wanted them off the counter so I could use that space again.

After:

Custom bottle drying rack.

Perfect.

Our Daily Life

We haven't been up to anything fun in particular, so here are little snippets of what happens from day to day.

I "finished" the nursery. 

It's kind of an all purpose room still and I am always tweaking things around the house, so it'll likely never be finished.

I'm just done tweaking the decor for now.

I went to get my hair cut and decided to have Jack's hair trimmed above his ears. The hairs there were so long already and just looked like they would tickle. 

I saved his first hair trimmings:) It wasn't a full on haircut, just over the ears.

 Everyone was napping but Mama.

I didn't go into my haircut planning to donate my hair again, but it turns out I had 10" again to cut off. 

Back to the short and easy style for now.

 My view after a particularly accomplished day.

1. Mow yard

2. Weed front bed

3. pick up endless piles of pine needles from back yard and put in yard debris

4. Place new birthday chairs in yard (if you squint you can see them on the right)

5. finish installing a couple stones around the edge of the patio

 All that hard work wore these two out!

 Went outside to enjoy our unusually warm weather.
