Capturing the fun

I decided to bust out the nice camera today.
Jack and I were playing in the beautiful sunshine and it just felt like a good day to snap pictures of whatever Jack might be into.
No posing.
No purpose.
Just wanting to capture my boy playing and having fun and just being his cute self.

He has my heart

When Everything is New...

So, I'm realizing that my last few posts are kind of just mind/photo dumps. I used to take time to make "themed" posts about a certain outing.
I think that those are a thing of the past.
I'll keep trying, but in the mean time, enjoy the latest photo dump :)

This is what life is full of when everything is so new!

Why eat food WITH a fork, when you can just eat the fork itself?

My guys watching Frozen with me on my birthday.

 Being a boy

 getting dirty...

Again, grownups... why GET dirty, when you can just EAT dirt?
Adults have it all wrong.

I had a SLIGHT bonk on the head, therefore I shall lay here for 10 min until someone comes to coddle me. No I'm not crying, I'm just laying here.
Come hug me.

 Dirt magnet

 Bath time!

This next series of photos were all taken within 15 min of each other.
Step 1. Give Mama heart attack with fear that I'm going to fall off hearth.
(Mama is able to remain seated at this point, but barely.)

Step 2. Climb higher to test limits.
(Mama needs CPR)

Step 3. Give Mama a break. A cage is much safer than climbing the fireplace.
(however, now Bailey is now not thrilled with her kennel-mate.)

Step 4. Ok fine, I'll watch a movie instead. Just gotta pick one out.

Step 5. Give up on movies. They were all chick flicks. I'll just read instead.
ALL THE BOOKS.
I MUST READ ALL THE BOOKS.
Just one will not do.
That means he's going to be a genius right?

Ok, on an ENTIRELY different note.
A glimpse into my work life.
It's glamorous, I tell ya!
Getting fit tested for an N95 mask to protect myself from contracting TB!

Modeling "summer attire" scrub gowns.
(Normally it goes all the way down, this is just how it happened to rip off upon removal!)
(PS This room is entirely clean and not patient care was being provided!)

And with that, we'll wrap it up!

Mischief

Just a few examples of how Jack is keeping us on our toes lately.

He figured out how to get into his toy cupboard.

If you come to our house and need to use the restroom, don't mind that the toilet paper is kept on the floor please.

Counting diapers to see if we need to buy more

Climbing up onto hearths and balancing precariously in an effort to give mama a heart attack

Getting into kitchen cupboards and emptying contents to help mama cook dinner

Helping daddy pick things out of his teeth

Climbing up on the couch and throwing myself about on all the pillows, then seeing how high he can climb

Also climbing into his little baby bucket and standing on the high edge to climb up onto other things and be rescued just before toppling over.

Think you've got energy to babysit?
Applications accepted :)

Jack is on the go and discovering EVERYTHING.
(But mainly testing the theory of gravity.)

Hike #5 and #6

#5 Horsetail Falls

The obligatory trailhead photo op

 Down checking out the falls

Just beautiful.

I love walking by walls of mossy rock with water dripping down. I want this in my backyard with the view of the previous picture as well.
A girl can dream!

Waiting to cross.

We made it to triple falls!
Not a bad view to stop for a snack

Aaaanndddd, time for a nap.
Jack worked hard on the way up ;)

#6 Coyote Wall

No selfie at the trailhead sign this time as it was too far away from the actual trailhead seen below.
There I am, pointing to our destination! The top of the cliff!

The view from about 1/3 of the way up
If you look really really close, you can see the tip of the mountain.

Made it to the top of the cliff and snapped a picture of where we started

The boys and doggy taking in the view

 Doggy rest time

Steve making the ascent and packing the kid and dog along

 We made it!

The family chillin' out at the top of the ridge. Having a snack and a rest :)
Jack chose a stick rather than his crackers during break time

Everyone just doing their thing :)

Jack and Mama enjoy the view!

Family selfie, too bad the mountain in the background is all washed out

 Making our way back down.
We only saw 2 other people on the way up, but stopped counting when we reached 58 people on the way back down.

Stop taking my picture. It's nap time.

Watering the doggy:)

All in all a good day except we were tired and our poor doggy had injured her paws.
We are really enjoying the nice weather we've been having so we can get out and enjoy these views!
