Loving My Garden

Ok, I may be obsessive about the garden posts. I just enjoy watching it grow and produce so much I can't help but want to share it with you all! Here are pics I took JUST now of the flourishing garden. Right now I am MOST excited about the zinnias blooming and the 2 pumpkins I have for sure growing. I cannot wait to carve them in October :) Hope you enjoy the pics!

Garden Progress

It keeps growing! It's much bigger now, but I don't have any pics from this week. But I thought I'd share the garden success :) Thus far we've harvested 3 zucchini and have lots of green tomatoes on the vine, the zinnias are getting ready to bloom, lots of blossoms on the pumpkins that will hopefully lead to some squash, the peas are blossoming all over the place and starting to produce and it just keeps going! Its so much fun (except for the watering). So, here's an update and then below is a surf n turf dinner I made featuring the first harvested zucchini :)

We've been trying to keep up with projects around the house as well as fun things like the garden during this busy summer! Today marks only 20 days until wedding day! Thanks to EVERYONE that has helped pull this wedding together. I wouldn't be happening without you! So this was a glimpse into life that is not wedding related lol. Hopefully more harvest pictures to come, but if not those, I'm sure wedding pics will be posted eventually!

See My Garden Grow

So I'm SLOWLY getting my yard pulled together amidst wedding frenzy stuff. The flowers out front are disappointing me as they aren't getting enough sun to grow very fast. I need them beautiful by Aug 28th please :) But it appears that my first attempt at a garden in my little home here is a success, thanks in great part to Steve working REALLY hard on making the soil nutrient rich. Otherwise, I'm pretty sure nothing would have grown in the dirt I have here. Well here is just a little sampling of what I have going around this place.

Can't wait to harvest all this goodness :) So proud of myself! And THRILLED that there are hardly any weeds so far, in the garden, elsewhere, it's another story. Stay tuned for more!

Bridal Shower #1

Wanted to share a few pics from the bridal shower I had this weekend. I can't believe I'm having bridal showers! Still a surreal feeling but I am so thankful for everyone coming to celebrate with me (and Megan too at this shower)! I'm so lucky to get to work with such amazing women every day. I had lots of fun! Here's a few photos to share the fun with you all :)

Oh yay!

So happy :)

Most adorable apron ever.

The two blissful brides :) Thank you so much everyone! Especially Wendy, Char and Merrily for being such wonderful hostess'!

This and That

Thought I'd just share a few of my favorite things from May:

First: My little nephew showin' off just how darn cute he is.

Yeah, drool face. Gets the girls every time ;)

That camera looks so delicious, I just want to eat it!

Oh I'm sorry, I was busy playing here, did you say something?

I'm still learning how to use a spoon.

Second: I'm getting new windows! Here are the men hard at work giving me pretty new windows.

I'm glad I missed most of the process. Too loud and nerve wracking for me. But Dad and Steve are saving me a boatload of money and making my house seem brand new with the new windows. What a blessing to be able to buy them and install them ourselves :)

Third: My new garden. Now if the RAIN WOULD GO AWAY, and come again another day, I could plant the garden. Beginning to wonder if I'll ever get to plant vegetables and flowers.

Well I guess it isn't a garden yet, but this picture shows the one sunny day we had when we (meaning Steve) created it.

Fourth: Time with a dear friend and her new bundle of joy Ethan :) Such a good mama.

I Said YES!

The Set Up:
Steve "I thought we could do something with just the two of us for your birthday. The beach would be fun (what I had suggested) but what do you think about making a trip up to Duncan Creek?" (I had mentioned before that SOMEDAY I wanted to go explore around up there since I have a picture framed in my family room of that creek)
Me: Oh ok, that sounds super.

The Day:
It was cloudy, occasional sprinkles. Exactly the weather we both enjoy in Oregon.

The Proposal:
We had been exploring around for a while at the creek taking pictures. Once we had made our way up the creek a ways, we took a few pictures with the self timer and and a tri-pod made out of a log. Steve said "I just want to try one more just to make sure we get a good picture" Turns out that last picture is a series of pictures of him proposing. I can only bring myself to post the first as the 2nd and 3rd I am sporting the "ugly cry" face.

After:
We stopped at Multnomah Falls on the way home for some lunch and did a little exploring, until the mist from the Falls combined with the heavy rainfall drove us inside to get dry and warm.

Mystery Solved

Thought I'd post a follow up. Steve's mom had the winning info regarding what kind of plant I had. It is Lily of the Valley and VERY prolific in my backyard. It's pretty though and another Spring surprise. Enjoy the pictures. They FINALLY bloomed so I have something to post :)

And one other LARGE addition that just popped up in the yard with little warning. Stay out of that thing's way.
